Juniper Structural Engineers is a close-knit consultancy in Nelson, BC delivering creative, high-quality structural engineering across residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal projects. We’re looking for a senior structural engineer ready to lead complex projects and drive the technical direction of our firm. You’ll serve as Engineer of Record across a broad range of projects, provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, manage key client relationships, and play an active role in shaping how we grow and practice as a company.

Duties

● Lead structural design from concept to construction admin
● Conduct site visits and field reviews
● Act as Engineer of Record for projects
● Mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians
● Manage scope, schedule, and budget on medium to large projects
● Build and maintain positive client relationships
● Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors
● Support business development and firm cultures under senior oversight
● Contribute positively to firm culture

Experience

● 8-10 years in consulting structural engineering
● P.Eng. registered in BC
● Proficient in timber, steel, and concrete design
● Experience with the BC Building Code, NBCC, and permitting
● Experience with Cadwork, Rhino, Revit, Python, Grasshopper, and AI tools is an asset
● Proficient in RFEM, S-Concrete, ETABS, or similar; able to guide others
● Able to manage client relationships and lead project teams
● Seismic design experience preferred
● Mass timber and/or business development experience an asset
● Strong preference for in-office or Revelstoke and would consider a blended schedule for the right candidate

Pay: $100,000 - $150,000 salary
